27 Things at 27

Here are 27 things I’ve learned in my 27 years…

  1. Taking a deep breath is always a good first step.
  2. Family comes first.
  3. Genuine friends are hard to come by, put effort into those relationships.
  4. Try and experience something or someplace new every year.
  5. Step onto the continent outside of your comfort zone.
  6. Invest in a pair of good travel shoes.
  7. Show, don’t always tell.
  8. Speak positively, speak confidently.
  9. Kill ‘em with kindness.
  10. If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.
  11. Listen to hear, not to reply.
  12. If you can do something in 5 minutes, do it right away.
  13. Be early if you can’t be on time.
  14. Don’t forget to celebrate small victories.
  15. Not everyone progresses at the same pace.
  16. You don’t have to follow someone else’s path.
  17. Some things are best in moderation.
  18. Love, respect, and appreciation are always better in excess.
  19. Believe in something bigger than yourself for those days when prayer is all you have.
  20. Staying hopeful is not a weakness.
  21. Find your balance.
  22. Time spent recuperating – mentally, physically, or emotionally – is never time wasted.
  23. You don’t need to wear a Lokai bracelet to be humble and be hopeful.
  24. Don’t live just for the weekend.
  25. Fake it till you make it.
  26. Change your attitude to change your perspective.
  27. You’re a mother*cking sun – don’t you ever forget that.
